After a decade of planning projects of all sizes, foresight for the unexpected and managing the unexpected when it happens are completely different skill sets. Multi-phased project plans succeed with alignment and execution of multi-variate business needs and team functions. Prior to requirements gathering and product feature development, complex projects succeed when a deep understanding of range of requirements is considered: project methods, internal/external awareness, lean processes, a “fail-fast and pivot“ mindset, clear project expectations, grounded values, collaborative communication, and adaptability.
